In preparation for awards season, the Hollywood Theatre continues its curated Awards Season Screenings, showcasing films earning major nominations and critical acclaim from both the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards conversation.
Join us for It Was Just an Accident — the powerful new drama from acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi, Palme d’Or winner at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. The film has also earned four Golden Globe nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language Film.
A tense, morally charged story of identity, justice, and personal reckoning, It Was Just an Accident follows a group of former prisoners who believe they’ve found the man responsible for their past suffering — and must grapple with what justice truly means.
