BEND SINISTER with Special Guests... CHASE THE BEAR, SLEEP SHAKE, RIPPLE ILLUSION Thursday April 21 Doors 7:30
Labeled as anything from math to prog to pop but feeling most comfortable in the plain guise of rock, Bend Sinister of Vancouver BC has evolved through numerous styles and absorbed a plethora of influences to become a band so refreshingly original that the struggle to categorize them is a losing battle.
Chase The Bear:
Chase The Bear is a rock and roll band from Vancouver, BC who's music mixes catchy, modern rock hooks with hard-hitting rock and roll, inspired by the classic rock, southern rock, blues, and soul records of the past century. A band of brothers, Chase The Bear shows unrivaled chemistry on stage with tasty harmonies, duelling guitar solos, and an explosion of talent, passion, and youthful energy, further showing that this isn’t a rock n’ roll revival band - Chase The Bear is a whole new animal ready to take the world by storm. Sleepshake: Hailing from Canada's west coast island city of Victoria, Sleepshake formed through an online connection of founding members Rhea George and Nate Prevedoros. The two then sought out local bassist Steve Clark and drummer Sascha Enns, completing their current line-up.In terms of their sound, Sleepshake can be considered a cross between Metric and Royal Blood - add a dash of The Dead Weather to taste. Fresh off of a hometown sellout, Sleepshake's adrenaline-inducing live show is one guaranteed to get your feet moving and blood pumping!
Blending modern and retro inspirations ranging from funk and R&B to alternative and psychedelic rock, Ripple Illusion has created a truly unique and fresh brand of keyboard driven rock and roll. The group has quickly become known for it's rigorous live performances and emotional expression on stage. Their eclectically inspired sound seamlessly weaves between hard hitting blues-rock and groovy R&B.
